Merry Christmas Everyone!

Merry Christmas to all my blogging friends! I hope you have a delicious, peanut butter ball kind of day!
Yesterday was going great...we were baking sugar cookies and had planned to make Christmas plate deliveries to all the neighbors after supper. Then I burned my hand really badly on crock pot steam. I sat with my thumb in cold water for 5 hours because it hurt so bad if I had it out of the water. Today I have a giant blister and scald marks but the pain is gone. We all have colds now though. Tis the season.

Today we enjoyed opening our gifts with the girls. The floor was covered in ripped open wrapping paper. Then my folks came over to open gifts and enjoy a delicious breakfast casserole. Oh, it was so good. Now we're playing the new Wii that Santa left for the girls...and we're heading back to my folks for a wonderful Christmas dinner with the family.

I'd like everyone to take time to think of those who are missing from our celebrations this year. We have had way too many tragedies in our community this year and my heart goes out to everyone who has to celebrate this first Christmas without their loved ones. I also think of our dear Jeff who we miss always but especially on the holidays.

I am so thankful for all of my friends and family....and for you, my blogging friends. Your warm comments and stories that you share with me make my blogging so much fun. We'll continue our friendship into the New Year as we create more goodies together. Merry Christmas everyone. Stay safe and warm and embrace your families with warmth and tenderness this holiday season.

Hugs from Mish

Oh no Mish...Sorry to hear you had an accident. There is a scripture in the Bible that is wonderful to quote when burns or bleeding happens...it's soothes the pain...and eases bleeding.
Highlight it in your Bible...believe it by faith according to your faith.

Ezekiel 16:6
And when I passed by thee, and saw thee polluted in thine own blood, I said unto thee when thou wast in thy blood, Live; yea, I said unto thee when thou wast in thy blood, Live.

Merry Christmas my friend!

Ouch! Those steam burns HURT! I have done it on many occasions(hey! I've never been accused of being very intelligent in the kitchen!) and personally try to get as much mileage as I can with them, but I know the pain. Hope it heals soon!
Had wanted to leave a comment yesterday when I read this, but was busy showing my Mom your berry basket, letter tray and jello molds so she can keep her eye out for them at auctions (which she loves; I don't have the patience). But hope, burn aside, you and your family had a wonderful and Merry Christmas. As someone who lost my Daddy on New Year's Day, I know your thoughts of those families in your community who have lost someone this year, means a lot to them. The "firsts" are hard, but I personally think Christmas is always hard.
I hope you and your family have a happy and safe New Year and looking forward to all the wonderful inspiration in the coming year.

OUCH! Words never sounded so true. This is a sad time for so many and a call, visit or hug makes it all better! You are a good friend for trying to share your love! And burning your hand was a sneaky way to get out of doing the dishes! (JK)

Hi Mish, Glad you all had a good holiday! I'm going to share a burn remedy I discovered years ago when my hand was badly burned with popcorn ball syrup. Use the old fashioned kind of Desitin. I hold an ice cube on the burn for a few minutes to stop further burn damage. Then put a thick layer of Desitin all over the burn area and cover it completely for 24 hours. For my hand I used a handkerchief because I didn't have bandages large enough. The next morning my burn area was just slightly sensitive - no blisters and no further problem. Now I always keep Desitin on hand.

Mish, next time apply antibiotic ointment with "pain" reliever (it's lidocaine). Stops hurting within a mintue or two. From a fellow burn victim!
